Mid-Autumn Festival

A festival of reunions & happiness..

· Singapore

One of the greatest things about our country is how many new things you get to experience in a year....

Mid-Autumn Festival takes places on the 15th of the 8th Month on

the Chinese Lunar calendar. In 2017 it's on October 4th.

How did Mid-Autumn come about?

In the olden days, Chinese emperors worshiped the sun and moon every year

to pray for a good harvest. They believed the sun and moon are in charge of the universe.

This custom is then passed down till today.

How do people celebrate it?

Appreciate full moon, enjoy mooncake, drink tea,

hanging lanterns, guessing riddles, evoke the longing for distant loved ones.

Did you know?

Mooncakes are round to symbolise the reunion of a family.

Get together with friends and family and share a meal. These are some great options to WAAVE at Sum Yi Tai, Kombi Rocks Diner, Limehouse and Naruto.... No bill to split when you WAAVE for your food and drinks. Friends should never talk about money after a great night out. Time to celebrate!
